Scholarship for Graudating Public High School Students

Vaugirard De La Salle University DepED Scholarship Program SY 2012-2013

This is to announce the Vaugirard Scholarship Program for the School year SY2012-2013 of De La Salle University in participation of the DepED. The selection will run from Sept 30 to March 30,2012

This scholarship will provide deserving public high school graduates with the opportunity to avail of Lasallian Education in any baccalaureate degree program.

All secondary schools from 84 targeted division may open the application to their top 10 4th year students. The scholars will receive the ff benefits and privileges:

a. Full waiver of tuition, miscellaneous and other fees from the 1st term until the conclusion of any undergraduate program.

b. Monthly stipend of 10,000 pesos to cover accommodation at the Lasallian Center, meals, transportation, books and other expenses.

c. An incentive equivalent to the stipend for 1 month for those graduating with latin honors and

d. privileges such as an advance enrollment, waiver of adjustment fee, waiver of graduation fees and the like.

Requirements:

a. Certified correct secondary scholastic records
b. Two recommendations from any 2 of the ff officials: Principal, school head and guidance counselor
c. 3 identical passport photographs
d. photocopy of NSO Birth Certificate.

Requirements shall be forwarded DepEd Central Office and submitted to the DLSU admin office on or before Nov 14, 2011.

Training Program in the Mathematical Enhancement, Recreations and Innovations Toolkit for Teachers 2

The Department of Science and Technology Science Eduation Institute in collaboration with Mathematical Society of the Philippines will conduct a specialized training program entitled Mathematical Enhancement, Recreations and Innovations Toolkit for Teacher 2 on Oct 24-2- 2011 at the Puta de Faian Resort Manila East Road Brangay Evangelista Baras Rizal.

The application for participation is open to all math teachers of S&T Oriented HS , Regional Science HS and Philippines Science High School in Luzon except the NCR. 5TH Asean Quiz National Competition

1.The 5th Asean Quiz National Competition will be conducted by the people's Television Network, Inc. (PTNI) as the implementing strategy in partnership with the Department of
Education (DepEd), Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Presidential Communications Office (PCOO), Philippine Information Agency (PIA), and the Philippine Broadcasting System (PBS).

2.The Asean Quiz is a project of the Association of the South East Asian Nations Committee on Culture and Information (ASEAN-COCI) that aims to foster the spirit of healthy competition among ASEAN youth in a friendly quiz game that exposes them to ASEAN history, social, cultural, political and economic developments in the region.

Policies and Guidelines on the FY 2011 Allocation of Textbooks and Teachers Manuals

1. It is the policy of the Department of Education (DepEd) to provide every pupil/student in all public schools with a complete set of textbooks (TXs) per grade/year level, and every teacher, a complete set of teacher’s manuals (TMs) which go with the textbooks. In operational terms, the sum of the number of TXs allocated for each elementary/secondary school is equal to the current enrollment (i.E, the school year when the TXs and TMs will be delivered) as reported in the latest Unified Information System (UIS) of the DepEd-Central Office (CO) plus 10% to provide for possible increase in enrollment. The number ot TMs allocated for each enrollment/secondary school shall be determined by dividing the number of TXs by 35 rounded to the nearest whole number.

2. In addition, a buffer stock shall be provided for TXs equivalent to 10% of the projected enrollment of the school year. The buffer stock shall answer for replacements, for losses and/or damages of TXs, increase in enrollment, and for meeting the requirements of newly established/created schools. The school districts and high school will receive 10% of the buffer stock, while 30% shall be delivered directly to the division offices DOs), 10% to the regional offices (ROs) and 50% shall be delivered to the DepEd-CO designated warehouse. In this regard, the schools division/city superintendents(SDSs) and school heads (SHs) shall ensure that the buffer stocks are properly stored in protected places/warehouses, and that these are equitably distributed and utilized by the pupils/students in need.
