This scholastic aptitude test (SAT) is designed to measure Scientific Ability, Quantitative Ability, Abstract Reasoning and Verbal Aptitude.
To qualify for the examination, a graduating elementary pupil from a duly recognized school by the Department of Education (DepEd) should meet the following criteria: 1) belongs to the upper 10% of graduating class as certified by the School Principal, or have special aptitude in Science and Mathematics as supported by the report card and letter of recommendation; 2) a Filipino citizen with no pending application as immigrant to any foreign country;
3) not more than 15 years of age by June 30, 2008; 4) in good health and fit to undergo a rigorous academic program; 5) of good moral character; and 6) has not taken the PSHS NCE previously.
Applications must be filed in duplicate copies together with the following: Two identical recent 1x1 ID pictures; Non-refundable test fee of P100 for private schools (this is free for public schools); and copy of report card and letter of recommendation if the applicant does not belong to upper 10% of current graduating class.
Applications can be submitted to any of the following: PSHS-Bicol Campus, DOST Region V and Provincial Science and Technology Office (PSTO) nearest to the applicant. Deadline for filing of application is September 15, 2008.
