Southern Leyte solon distributes more computer sets to elementary schools
Maasin City (22 July) -- Representative Roger G. Mercado personally turned over to the school heads 24 sets of computers to selected elementary schools from Maasin City down to Pana-on Island at the Provincial Capitol, Province of Southern Leyte last Monday, July 21.
The recipients of the computers were as follows, namely, Alternative Learning Schools, Pansaan Elementary School, Lib-og Elementary School, Tomoy-tomoy Elementary School, San Isidro Elementary School, Nonok Sur Elementary School, Hanginan Multi-Grade School, Hinau Daku elementary School, Bato I Elementary School, Dongon National High School, Matin-ao Elementary School, Tawid Elementary School, Manhilo Elementary School, Tam-is Elementary School, Hinapu Gamay Elementary School, Divisoria Elementary School-Bontoc, Pintuyan National High School, Libas National High School- Sogod, Brgy. Magbagakay Elementary School - San Juan, San Isidro Elementary School - Tomas Oppus and Hingatunggan Elementary School- Silago, and the Office of the Provincial Governor.

I was once in charge of inspecting computer in the schools. I know that if the schools teacher are not train for computer education these project will go to nothing.
I hope the Solon will consider this.

I definitely agree with you. Teachers need to be trained in order to be confident and competent in using technology tools.

I am computer teacher. Some teachers need at least basic computer skills before they can teach.

In one the school we visit. I find the that 2 of the 15 computers are working. The government computerization fund become usedless if the teacher of the receiver school is not train on maintenance
I heard some news from that pc's donated to schools specially in the provinces were end up bodega because of lack of qualified teachers to teach and maintain the computers. I agree that teachers be trained.
Not all,but some teachers knows how to used computers.Some already attended the seminar workshop here in our city of zamboanga but the problem we lack computers in school.Can the Deped give computers to zamboanga city,especially to Tugbungan Elementary School,Tetuan District?I think with the new principal,mr.ernesto sario...he can give good maintainance to the computers as well with the teachers.We still need computers in school of Tugbungan
Good sunday morning...I do hope this message can reach DEPED secretary Jeslie Lapus...Please share Tugbungan Elem.School...more computers.I salute mr.ernesto sario,the new principal of Tugbungan Elementary School.With his 2yrs.in Tugbungan Elementary School,He already accomplished some of the school projects.Thanks and more power.Hope this message will reach sec.lapus.We really need more computers in Tugbungan Elem.School.
The problem now as i see it is that there are computers distributed to school without qualified teacher nor administrator to handle the computerization in Elementary level
