CERTIFICATE IN SPED PROGRAM

The faculty of Education, Miriam School offers a Certificate in Special Education (SPED) System starting Summer Next year until 2nd semester of 2012-2013. This is an 18 (18)-unit-program or one (1) year and one (1) summer allowing students in the system to continue their Masters course in SPED. The following may avail this software:

  1.  Parents who would like to plenty of theoretical and practical framework of SPED which would allowed them to help a member of the family who has special requirements;
  2.  Teachers in a common education setting;
  3.  Those who find themselves taking post-graduate studies within education (other than SPED), or perhaps those in allied professions (at the.g. occupational/physical therapists, specialists); and
  4.  Those who have period or financial constraints that hinder completion of the entire Master's Program in SPED.

DepEd prepares instructors for K in order to 12

In preparation for the adoption of the new programs under the K to 12 program, the Section of Training is doing the Test associated with English Skills for Teachers (TEPT) as well as Process Abilities Test (PST) throughout Science and also Math to everyone Grades 1 and 2 public school lecturers nationwide.

The tests, according to Education Secretary Br. Armin A new. Luistro FSC, are section of DepEd’s assessment for the capability of community school teachers to show the new program under the K to 12 program. The Level 1 and fresh high school program will debut when lessons open in June 2012. “We want each of our teachers entirely equipped when we introduce the new curriculum this specific school year,” he explained.

Luistro pointed out that caused by the TEPT as well as PST will serve because basis for the type of training as well as intervention the actual department will certainly introduce come early july to fully prepare the educators for the new course load.

The checks started in February 5 for NCR teachers. 2012 UP CSSP Summer Training for Social Science Teachers

The University of the Philippines throught the College of Social Science and Philosophy will hold the 2012 UP - CSSP Summer Training with the theme "Innovations in Philippines Social Science Training and Research in the Digital Age" on April 17-20, 2012 at the UP CSSP Multi Media Room Palma Hall 400, UP Diliman QC.

The training aims to provide opportunities for the participants to exploer social science teachng strategies and research methods in the age of internet.

The lectures and workshops for this training are configured to feature current research and pedagogy papers highlighting the impact of the new media in the rapidly chaning world from the lens of the different social science disciplines.

Participants for this activities are social science teachers from public and private schools. Also offered to tertiary educational institutions.

Earch participants shall be charged a registration fee of 4000 to cover the abstract of papers, lunch, snacks and certificate of participation.

The Department of Education, in cooperation with the Smart School Program of Smart Communication, Inc and in partnership with Philippines Business for Social Program will conduct the Smart Schools Program 21st Century Leadership Training Program for Public Elementary and Secondary School Principals on Dec 7-9, 2011 in Chatea Royale Sports and Country Club, Nasugbu Batangas.

The main objective of ht program is to provide the education leaders with a platform to share their insights on various challenges faces in the areas of educational reforms and student performance. 2011 Digital Teaching Innovation Training for Teachers

The Smart Teaching and Educational Providers (STEP) will conduct the 2011 Digital Teaching Innovation, a 3 day training with hands on application from June 3 to Sept 25, 2011 at the designated computer laboratories of the STEP partners assigned to the schools. The specific schedule or the training are follows:

Date - June | Time - 3 days 8:00Am to 5pm | Division - Marikina Pasig San Juan and Quezon City

Date - July | Time - Same - Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela CIty

Date - August | Time - same | Division - Makati, Mandaluyong, Manila, Taguig, Pateros, Pasay and Paranaque City. In details..


The training aims to:

1. prepare the teacher participants to utilize the instructional technology tools responsibly;

2. help them value curriculum outcomes over technology;

3. educate them on how to use online grade books, which make sharing scores and classroom information with students and then parents much easier.

4. train them on the online education ( to use video conferencing like skype that will allow them to share media and information with student

5. develop digital learning materials which complement multi-sensory learning environments.

The participants to this training are the administrators, elementary and secondary teachers from both public and private schools. The names of teachers who will attend must be submitted by their school principals. They can bring their own laptops.

A registration fee of P800 will be charged each from public school participants and P1200 each from private school participants to cover the cost of venu8e training modules and certificates.

2010 Summer Training Seminar for Social Science Teachers

The College of Social Science and Philosophy, University of the Philippines UP Diliman, Quezon City will hold the 2010 Summer Training Seminar for Social Science Teachers of April 13-16, 2010 at the CSSP Audio Visual Room, Palma Hall Room 2007, U.P. Diliman, Quezon City with the theme Typhoons, Earthquakes and other Natural Hazards: The Role of the Social Science In Disaster Risk Reduction:

The training seminar aims to:
a. develop and enhance teacher capabilities in social science research and teaching; and in particular; knowledge on contemporary social processes and issues, and updates on there is and methods;
b. enhance understanding of the current issues, perspectives and methodologies in the different disciplines of the social sciences for use in teaching, research, and professional practice.
c. Update knowledge on social, economic, political, cultural and other issues such as development and governance at national, regional and local contexts considering its relevance to social science education, research and professional practice.

d. develop increase capacities in social science research and education for knowledge generate and problem solving relevant to the region.

The social studies teacher from both elementary and secondary schools is invited to attend this activity.

Web Page Development Training for Teachers

Web Page Development Training Workshop for the 48 Regional ICT Tech Voc High Schools


As a continuing support to the operationalization of the Regional ICT Technical Vocational High Schools, a training workshop on Web Page Development will be conducted on February 4-12, 2019 at Marigondon National High School - Top 1 Regional ICT TVHS in Region VII in Lapu Lapu City Cebu.

The objectives of this training workshop are to create or develop a web page for each of the 48 Regional ICT Technical Vocational High Schools, train the participants on the following:

    * plan a web page
    * Assemble a basic page using basic features such heading, links, tables, etc.
    * familiarize them with the most basic design elements involved in effective web page and
    * learn the steps required to publish a page on the web
    * Train the participants in utilizing web pages for lesson plans, demonstration and presentation purposes.

Each of the 3 regional ICT TVHS shall send 1 participant preferably with basic background on web page building process and has working knowledge on .NET programming as the ultimate objective of this training workshop is the creation of schools web pages.

The AimSkills World Management Training Center will conduct the National Training Workshop for Daycare workers and Teachers on Early Childhood Education at Hotel Supreme, baguio City in 3 batches on the following dates;

Chemistry Teacher Seminar

Filipino Chemistry Teachers
The Philippines Association of Chemistry Teachers, Inc, the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry and the Science Across the World Network will hold the Young Ambassadors for Chemistry Event on October 27-28, 2009 at Adamson University and SM Mall of Asia.

The theme for the YAC activity is Promoting Public Understanding of Chemistry". This aim to help the participants dispel the impression of the general public that chemistry is not relevant to dail life and that the word chemical always refer to harmful substances.

This event will involved selected secondary school teachers in Training the Trainers course to be held at Adamson University. The teacher participants will then coach their students who are the Young Ambassadors for Chemistry in a public activity in the afternoon of the second day to be participated in by the general public at the SM Mall of Asia.

ICT Conference Cum Workshop

Consultative Conference Cum Workshop with the IT Essentials Schools Implementers

In support to and for the consistent implementation of the Regional ICT Tech Voc HS that are offering the CISCO NetAcad Program, a Consultative Planning Conference will be conducted on SEPT 8-10, 2009 at the Development Academy f the Philippines, Tagaytay City.

a. gather feedback and address the concerns met in the implementation of the curriculum.
b. familiarize DepEd local academy instructors on the academy management module;
c. train instructors how to create and administer online student classes and to monitor student progress
d. train instructors how to raise concerns and get answers from Help Desk and
e. prepare instructors for their upcoming Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician Examination.

Participants to this activity are School principals, ICT Coordinator or ICT Teacher trainees in ITE and CISCO Certified Network Associate CCNA last May 2009.

Teacher participants may check in at the venue a day before the start of the training while the first meal to be served is dinner of Sept 7, 2009. Participants are required to bring their own laptop.

Teachers Training on Campus Journalism

Regional Training of School Paper Advisers and Campus Journalists

The Department of Education (DepED) as mandated by RA no 7079 alson know as the Campus Journalist Act of 1991, through the BSE and BEE announces the conduct of the Regional Training of School Paper Advisers/Campus Journalists across the country between the 1st week of August and the last week of Sept inclusive.

The simultaneous training aims to develop the journalistic skills of new teacher advisers / campus journalists and further equipping the teacher advisers with the much needed skills in the field of journalism. The Region is advise to select 3 priority development areas that need upgrading based on the Regional standing or performance during the recent NATIONAL SCHOOLS PRESS CONFERENCE (NSPC)

The Regional Coordinator for Journalism, in coordination with the Regional School Paper Advisers Association shall n0minate the participants. There shall be a total of 32 participants for both the HS and Elem levels per division; 16 teachers advisers and 16 student journalists, 8 of whom shall come from the HS level and 8 from the elementary level with 4 English and 4 Filipino advisers and journalists respectively.

A subsidy of P16500 pesos is allotted per division and shall be drawn against the Campus Journalism Funds.

HS Training Workshop about Integrating Democracy in the Classroom

PROJECT CITIZEN PHILIPPINES

The Philippine Center for Civic Education and Democracy and the Tan Yan Kee Foundation, Inc with he support of the University of Asia and the Pacific through the Institute of Political Economy and the Center for Civic Education based in Calabasas California USA will hold the project Citizen Philippines 2009.

Project Citizen is an international program, developed by the Center for Civic Education in the United State for increasing democratic participation, political efficacy and civic engagement levels of students at the high school level. It is a pedagogy that systematically trains the teacher-moderators in embedding education for democracy in the classroom while simultaneously providing a venue for student s to participate in community problem solving and applying their lessons in citizenship in real life. Thus it aims to connect the classroom learning of students on their rights and duties as citizens with the community work that immerses them in real world experience. In the process, they develop support for democratic values and principles,tolerance, and feeling of political efficacy. In connection with the project, training workshops will be provided for public secondary school teachers at the University of Asia and the Pacific campus on the following dates:

July 9 11 Batch 1 NCR Telengtan Hall UA&P
July 30 - Aug 1 Batch 2 Greater Manila Telengtan Hall, UA&P
