Objectives of the UP SUMMER TRAINING PROGRAM

ENGLISH

1. To have a working knowledge of the principles of communicative language teaching approach in a bilingual context
2. To understand content-based instruction as an approach in developing the Cognitive Academic Language Proficiency ( CALP ) of students
3. To help teachers focus on the development of thinking skills using CBI
4. To integrate the function of language and its form in classroom instruction
5. To diagnose the language and reading proficiency of the English teachers to facilitate their knowledge of the English Language
