SM Group and Deutsche Bank Donate P17M Worth of Classrooms

One of the country’s biggest firms and an international bank are giving some P17 million to help government deal with the perennial scarcity in public school classrooms.

The SM Group, a retail store, along with Deutsche Bank, signed agreements with the Department of Education (DepEd) to fund up to 26 classrooms in selected locations.

The assistance came as DepEd doubled its classroom building goal this year to some 30,000 across the country to reduce by more than half the existing shortage.

Public schools are currently in need of some 50,000 classrooms to reduce congestion and achieve the suitable classroom-student ratio of one to 45.

“The resource distance in the country’s public school system is so enormous that any aid from other sectors especially non-public businesses is most welcome.

In respect to the fresh agreements, SM Prime will handle the construction of a two-story building with four classrooms in Dasmariñas, Cavite.

SM Prime will also build six 1 story, 2 classroom,: one unit each in Davao City, General Santos, Sariaya and Cebu; and 2 units (four rooms) in Pampanga.

Outbound Call Center

Outbound call centers are usually third party companies tasked with the process of calling and negotiate customer calls on behalf of clients who availed of the service- Hence outbound call centers. To name a few, outbound call center services can include: telemarketing, technical support, virtual assistants, marketing campaigns, product support, bills and whole lot more.

Usually the acquisition of these services comes fast and convenient as Outbound call center software are used and Business Process Outsourcing Firms (BPOs) have equally competent outbound call center agents standing by to take customer calls.

BPOs hired for the service are usually inept as both inbound / outbound call centers or do one exclusive of the following services with outbound call center jobs based on outbound call center metrics where agents are carefully monitored for calls (cost per call), projects completed and quota managed. Outbound call center managers are the ones responsible for the conduct and proceedings of agents in the work field. Inbound/ outbound call centers are based on the ordeal of largely personal customer service. Outbound call center management is ideally on a strict- for-compliance method for every agent so as to give total customer satisfaction.

Outbound call center technology is a new development in the industry so as to free up companies of the burden of acquiring more sophisticated equipment to take care of their customers. Outbound call center outsourcing is now the biggest trend the world over as more and more companies cannot focus purely on the marketing and customer service side of the industry and needs help in meeting their customer’s demands for a more upkeep and total personal customer service.

Antonio Del Rosario - Model Congressman

The congressman's district office and the CHED Regional Office for Western Visayas awarded financial grants to 74 scholars during a presentation and awarding of grants held recently here.

The solon and CHED-6 Supervising Administrative Officer Nona Fernandez handed in the grants to the scholars from Roxas City and the municipalities under the first congressional district, assisted by Dennis Cañas, program coordinator for the congressman's office.

The scholars together with their parents beamed with joy upon receiving the checks for the educational grants from the congressman and CHED official. Fernandez, coordinator of the program in the region, pitched in for CHED Regional Director Isabel Mahler.

The scholarship grant entitles beneficiaries to financial assistance to help defray their tuition, basic school fees and monthly stipends out of the Higher Education Development Fund.

Del Rosario said he is happy that there is such a scholarship program because it would help students from poor families earn a college degree. The solon also pledged to appropriate funds to grant full additional financial assistance to scholars who are only entitled to a one-year grant under the program.

CHED also has established a study grant program involving the country's senators dubbed CHED-Senate Study Grant Program. The program is also in line with the thrust of government to further widen the access of poor but deserving students to higher education opportunities.

Each of the Senators is allotted twenty scholarship slots. Grantees may take any four-year degree course of their choice preferably in a state college or university.
