112th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence.
Pursuant to and by the virtue of Administrative Order No. 284, the office of the President, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines together with the Department of Education shall take the lead in planning, coordinating and implementing the programs and events in the celebration of the Independence Day on June 12, 2010.
The celebration is anchored on the theme Kalayaan:Tagumpay ng Bayan". Its objectives are to:
a. reawaken the FIlipino people of their responsibility and patriotic commitment especially the youth to commemorate the heroism, nationallism and self-sacrifice of their forefathers in the struggle for independence:
b. instill in their minds the greatness of their race, the legacy of their heroes and the ideal of nationhood..
