Winners in the 2010 Intel international Science and Engineering Fair

The Department of Education through the BSE in collaboration with Intel Technology Philippines, Int’l congratulates the winners of the Intel international Science and Engineering Fair and their respective project advisers and Adult in Charge Mrs. Rhodora Sison in recognition of their exemplary performance in the files of Science and engineering. the activity is the world’s largest international pre college science fair competition which was attended by one thousand and 6 hundred eleven high school student from over 59 countries.

The list of winners and their research advisers and the awards received are the following:

• Award - 4th Grand Award
• Student - Marc Arthur Limpiado
• Adviser - Janeth Morata
• Project title - Microbial Inhibitory Activities of Extracts from 7 Philippine Seaweeds.
• School - Philippines Science HS - Eastern Visayas Campus

• Award - 4th Grand Award
• Student - Maria Clara Isabel Sia, Jean Reni De Guzman, Marc Mapalo
• Adviser - Janeth Morata Fuentes
• Project Title - Use of Natural Flocculants in Mitigating harmful Algal Blooms - Red Tide.
• School - same

The DepEd also commend the other delegates who were winners in the national level DepD Intel Philippine Science Fair

• Award - 2nd Place - Physical Science - Cluster 2
• Student - Hanna Frusein Escobido, Brayl Ymbol, Kristine Ann Fernandez
• Adviser - Benito Baje
• Project - Corn Cob Ash as a material for semiconducting temperature sensor
• Region - Caraga State University Cabadbaran Campus.

Deped also recognizes the assistance extended by Dr. Maribel Nonato, Engr. Liberato F. Ramos and Dr. Claro M Santiago Jr. who served as consultants.
