Smart and DepED Expanded the free computer and internet program

The expansion of the Smart Schools Program was formalized during the signing of an addendum to a Memorandum of Agreement between SMART, the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP).

Under DepEd’s Adopt-a-School Program, SMART, DepEd and PBSP first entered into an agreement in August 2005 to implement the Smart Schools Program, where SMART and PBSP will provide teachers of selected public high schools in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao with access to the Internet, access to educational content, and training.

“The success of the Smart Schools Program lies in its integrated approach to Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in education. More and more public schools are interested in the program because it addresses their need for Internet access, content and training,” said Napoleon L. Nazareno, SMART President and CEO.

I would like to thanks Smart for this program. The program already produced best programmers, Technical supports, web developers and system developers since we started it last 2004.

Teachers and Principal, go now to your division office and avail this program. Better if you go also to Smart School Program office coordinator to fasten the processing.
