Teachers Training on Campus Journalism

Regional Training of School Paper Advisers and Campus Journalists

The Department of Education (DepED) as mandated by RA no 7079 alson know as the Campus Journalist Act of 1991, through the BSE and BEE announces the conduct of the Regional Training of School Paper Advisers/Campus Journalists across the country between the 1st week of August and the last week of Sept inclusive.

The simultaneous training aims to develop the journalistic skills of new teacher advisers / campus journalists and further equipping the teacher advisers with the much needed skills in the field of journalism. The Region is advise to select 3 priority development areas that need upgrading based on the Regional standing or performance during the recent NATIONAL SCHOOLS PRESS CONFERENCE (NSPC)

The Regional Coordinator for Journalism, in coordination with the Regional School Paper Advisers Association shall n0minate the participants. There shall be a total of 32 participants for both the HS and Elem levels per division; 16 teachers advisers and 16 student journalists, 8 of whom shall come from the HS level and 8 from the elementary level with 4 English and 4 Filipino advisers and journalists respectively.

A subsidy of P16500 pesos is allotted per division and shall be drawn against the Campus Journalism Funds.
