The Southeast Center for Training and Development and the Philippine Society for Education, Research and Training shall conduct the National Seminar on Teaching Sceince Through Understanding by Design with the theme "Keeping the Science Teacher Abreast with the New Trends and Innovations" on the following dates and venues:
Dates Venue
March 5-7, 2010 Specific venue to be announced
March 12-14 Baguio Convention Center, Baguio City
March 19-21, 2010 DepEd Ecotech Cebu City
The objectives of the seminar are to:
a. review past and present trends in teaching different areas in science.
b. realize the need and importance of adapting new trends in teaching
c. present the framework of undestanding by design
d. acquire new skills in presenting science instruction throguh UBND and
e. acquire methods in evaluation learning outputs in Science.

Im a science teacher from albay, bicol. The division invited us to attend tyhe UbD in baguio this march 12, 2010... First they told us that we shoulder the expenses and then it will be reimbursed... then they told again that nothing will be reimburse and that its in the national memorandum that its our personal expenses... WHAT??? They want to implement the UBD and they want teachers to shell out their own money????.. I just want to know if this is true.. Atleast the Science Supervisor is telling us this much....
You should look at the memorandum of this activities. It the memo stated that fund will be taken from local school fund, etc then it should be otherwise you take responsibility of your expenses.
