Intensive Supervisory Support to Elementary and Secondary School to Raise their Achievement Rate in NAT

The National Achievement Test results in School Year 2010-2011 were reported in quartile distribution of Mean Percentage Scores among schools, namely - Superior (76%-100%) Upper Average (51%-75%), Lower Average (26%-50%) and Poor (0-25%). The regions, division and schools were provided with this report by the DepEd through the National Education Testing and Research Center

The percentage of schools in quartile distribution in the NAT for Grade 6 and 2nd Year is as follows:

Quartile Distribution Nat Grade 6 Nat 2nd Year
Superior 36.28% 1.13%
Upper Average 49.62% 31.41%
Lower Average 14% 67.10%
Poor .01% .35%

To address the need to raise the learning outcomes among the schools which were classified under the Poor Achievement and Lower Average rates, all the divisions and the district supervisor are directed to provide intensive supervision to these schools.

The RD and SDS together with their staff are advised to plan together on how this intensive supervision could work successfully.

Marami ng seminars trainings ang mga teachers. What they need are instructional materials. Textbooks do not jibe with the learning objectives in the PELC

results of the NAT are not reliable.
