At six heavily equipped tribesmen have been keeping hostage 16 people, mostly officers of Department of Education (DepEd) and teachers, in Agusan del Sur.
The group is demanding the release of Manobo boss Ondo Perez, who is in jail for hosting a equivalent hostage-taking in 2009 to protest administration inaction on his clan’s ancestral land claim.
Chief Insp. Nelly Villagarcia, representative of the Caraga local police, claimed the arm men led by Ondo’s brother, Ilad Perez, had taken the hostages at gunpoint right after graduation rites at a elementary school in Barangay Purisima

Very big why?, Teachers are favorite victim, perhaps - teachers now a days, "SOME" do not have moral authority to teach the children, they themselves do not help to police their rank against unwelcome attitude towards the student and corruption.They teach us the rigth thing to do but they doing wrong thing, specially the heads (principal). i agree teachers are favorite victims. dto sa Division of Pangasinan II kami ang kawawa na guro pag alam na sweldo nagpapasimenar na cla lalo na c dr. calugay. niloloko pa nya pati goberyerno peperma ng Form 48 for our service credits "DAW" FOR SATURDAY AND SUNDAY but actually ang senimar ay til saturday lang wala naman magandang topic "RECYCLE LANG" ang seminar nila.Hay buhay ng guro.KAWAWANG GURO BIKTIMA NG MGA GANID NA SUPERVISORS!!!!!!!! Sang ayon ako sa iyo anonymou said sa pangasinan dahil d2 sa Baguio wala na kaming pahingang mga guro kundi seminar sa sabado kontest kontest sa math, science, filipino, hekasi at ngayon na man step competition at iba pa. hay buhay kaguruan bakasyon pero walang bakasyon ano ba un sabagay bayad naman tayo.seminar dito training duon, instructional materials ganire visuals aids ganito. ganda sana ng k to 12 pag nakatapos bata puwede na magtrabaho ganda ng vision. unang batch ng k to 12 mass promotion ano un. binagsak nga bata kc hindi puwede, utos kc ng nakatataas.hay bumaba nga kayo dyan guro sa baba ang sisisihin. uniporme ang gaganda hay pagkakainit nman buti pa sila hindi pagpapawisan mga kilikili at singit kasi airconditioned mga rooms,mga guro ayun nagdurusa at magdurusa pa.
